In the ReCircE Cloud it is possible to create digital lifecycle passport (DLCP) for a specific product. This DLCP can be shared with others to ensure data consistency between all stakeholders in the product lifecycle. The information of the digital lifecycle passport (DLCP) supports the intelligent sorting of heterogeneous waste streams as well as the resource-efficient optimization of material cycles by using life cycle assessments.
A life cycle assessment (LCA) is used to systematically record the entire life cycle of a product or service and analyze its impact on the environment. To bridge the information gap between stakeholder, the DLCP collects essential data throughout a product’s life cycle, among which are inventory data about the product’s composition as well as manufacturing processes. The goal is to transfer this information directly into the LCA software to create the product system and quantify its environmental impact.
